All Mixed Up

Happy Thursday all!

I usually don’t post on Thursdays but since I was knocked down yesterday by some 24hr cold bug, I wanted to make up for my lack of a post (plus its supposed to rain heavily tomorrow so I get to kill two birds with one stone!).

It’s safe to say I’m a huge fan of print mixing.  It’s been giving my wardrobe an uplift now that I’ve squashed shopping.  Mixing prints is a fresh way for me to put together items in my wardrobe I’ve never paired before. Stripes are the the first print I go to because I have a lot of of striped items (too many!).  Instead of my usual pairing of stripes and polka dots, I decided to try something different and pair it with my floral print skirt.  I kept things simple and went with black and white and added my neon bag for a pop of color.

Do you mix prints? If so, what is your favorite combo?

Have a great day!

P.S. Sorry for the dark pics.  The weather was really foggy this mor

I must confess, I almost NEVER mix prints! About the only print-mixing I do is to wear my apricot jeans which have tiny white dots on them, with a printed tee. Other than that, no, no bold mixing. I loved this post and hope to see more print mixing soon!!!!

Great outfit, and the bag adds just the right pop of color. I rarely mix prints because I own mostly non-patterned tops. I don’t like how prints look next to my face so only wear them on pants and skirts. But I did invest in some interesting and colorful scarves when I had no hair, so I will be experimenting with those in Winter instead of only on my head to keep my bald head warm. (Because I have hair now!!)

Adorable and you rock those shoes; you have great ankles.

Beautiful! I love the quirky pairing of florals with stripes or polka dots. I don’t have a lot of “basic” prints like stripes, dots, or animal prints. Instead, I have a lot of florals and abstract prints. I like mixing big and little prints, and I try to find ones that share a color to tie the look together. I love the look of mixing black and white prints, but I don’t have a lot of that in my closet. Instead, I have a lot of colorful, rainbow prints, and I have a harder time matching them up. But I’m working on it! The neon bag is the perfect pop of color against your black and white and neutral necklace, too.

Great outfit! Stripes are a “neutral” to me, pair them with anything at all.

Thank you! I wear my stripes like a neutral too! Great minds think alike!

Playful and stunning! I too enjoy remixing the clothes I collected over the past year (I did not have much before that), and it’s fun! It’s like having your own little shop which is always available. Love stripes as well. I think it mixes with everything, doesn’t it? Geo patterns, florals, polka dot, brights etc… xxx

You look GREAT here and Taja does a good job on your skirts, they fit you so well. I never mix prints but you give me inspiration. Kudos!!

You look great, love it! I’m not that experimental with prints though I love seeing it on other women. I have a weakness for stripes, preferably horizontal and polka dots. But mixing those two together has yet to happen. Good luck with fighting off the cold bug.

Thank you! The first prints I mixed together were stripes & polka dots. I love that combo!

I’ve been missing that pop of color when I mix my black and white prints because I don’t want to go over the top. You have proved me wrong!! Love it!!

Thank you! I love color so I wear it as often as I can!

Sorry to hear you haven’t been well. I do like a bit of print mixing. At the moment I’ve been pairing stripes with houndstooth.

    • May 18, 2014 / 4:16 pm

Oooooh! Stripes with houndstooth! I never thought of those together! 🙂

Don’t you love the fact that stripes go with everything ? I love the pairing and pictures are just fine.

    • May 18, 2014 / 4:15 pm

Yes! Stripes are the best print to mix with!

I believe I figured out your secret: you have small waist+big breasts+very shapely legs with thin(!!!!) ankles. That’s why you look so good. Now, I have to figure out how to keep a sunny attitude like yours! That’s tougher…

I just got a skirt a lot like this. I hadn’t thought of mixing it with stripes but now I’m thinking of it. Thanks.

Great! I would love to see it when you try it!
