Spring Trends Part III: Leather

TGIF everyone!

For week three of the Spring Trend challenge we are tackling leather. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, “Leather for Spring?!” but since  Winter is still hanging on, wearing it doesn’t seem so crazy.  I don’t own real leather pieces like a jacket or skirt so I had to make do with my faux leather peplum shirt.  Honestly I don’t feel very Spring like  in this outfit.  I tried to incorporate it into a Spring outfit but it just didn’t work.  So instead of driving myself crazy I decided to recycle the outfit I wore in this  post.  The only change I made was switching out the ankle pant  for a full length trouser.

Although this trend  didn’t work for me,  don’t be discouraged to try it. You never know, it might just work for you!

Have a great weekend!

I love it when you wear that blouse under the peplum! I don’t have any leather either but I have a few pieces in my Gwynnie Bee closet that I’m goingto try.

Definitely give it a try! I would love to see it when you do!

Thank you! I liked the pleated skirt in your your first post. I thought you looked HOT in your leather jacket!

I used to be super tiny because I was really into fitness. When I became disabled, I gained quite a bit of weight and went up several clothing sizes. I mention in one of those posts that one of the great wonders of gaining weight is that I now have boobs so it was fun to show them off in that leather jacket post. If you didn’t read it, do, because it’s kind of funny. Well, I think it is anyway.

I think the outfit looks great on you! I am somewhat bright color phobic, but the pants are beautiful with the leather..where did you find the pants?

Thank you so much! I got the pants from Lord & Taylor on sale.

I actually really like this! you say it’s not good, but it is one of my favs. The only thing I would have changed was the necklace, and that’s only because it appears to be hitting at a funny spot with the collar of the peplum pleather shirt.

I liked the outfit, I just didnt think it was Spring-like. Whenever I wear the shirt, I always have a hard time finding a necklace that works with it.

I agree with the others. What is wrong with it? It is very powerful. Though I do prefer the summery trousers to these Calvin Klein’s. Somehow the more formal trouses take away a bit of the fun. They are beautiful and it is not bad with the peplum. Just like the 7/8 trousers a bit more. I wear my peplum with 7/8 trousers as well (perhaps that is why I prefer it haha). Have you tried to pair it with a yellow top? I like yellow with black.

I never thought to pair it with yellow. Thanks for the tip!
